And on top of all this drought business, I broke m And on top of all this drought business, I broke my wrist in 2 places night before last when Brownie playfully rushed towards me wanting a brushing. I tripped in a hole and down I went—my wrist is fractured in a couple different places and I’ll need surgery. Anyway, life on a sanctuary has all kinds of experiences—some better than others—this one, not so great but I just have to roll with it. It’s nothing compared to farm animals who get bones broken every day with no medical care. Love to all and please donate to our Drought fund! There’s no end in sight and it’s so nerve wracking not knowing if hay supply is going to dry up and/or skyrocket out of control financially! Love, Reneé
This drought is real! We haven’t had rain in 6 w This drought is real! We haven’t had rain in 6 weeks- we are about 15 inches behind in rain. We’ve only had 5 inches of rain this year. Donating to our drought fund is needed!
Think on this statement! All cruelty whether physi Think on this statement! All cruelty whether physical, emotional, mental or spiritual stems from weakness. A weak mind turns and looks another way when animals are being abused. It takes a strong constitution to witness their suffering. How else can we be their voice if we are unable to walk in their hooves, feet, paws or wings. Would we want done to us what is being done to them every second of the day? Imagine the screams happening right now that go unheard. Imagine the suffering of animals killed for food being hoisted by their limbs down assembly lines. Bodies after bodies roll past others awaiting the same fate. They smell the blood, they see the slaughtered bodies and they know they’re next. The only reason I know these facts and too many to recount is because I’ve witnessed it with my own eyes either in person or by way of documentaries and films. I watched the suffering over and over until their suffering became my own. We are all one. That isn’t a cliche it’s the truth. What we do to the weak and vulnerable we do to ourselves by our own indifference. We can’t be complicit and get away with it. We will pay—either by reaping what we sow or destroying our own soul by beating cruelty to others in our consciousness so deep our original soul is unrecognizable. Love, Reneé

My emotions were wrecked when I came to the consci My emotions were wrecked when I came to the consciousness of veganism. Every single thing I knew and loved was not the same. I began to hate the person I was. How could I have accepted a life where I ate animals and took a life that was never mine to take?

It took a long time for me to walk down a grocery aisle where hacked-up bodies were neatly packed and ready to eat. In my eyes, it was a crime scene, and everyone was just walking past these dead animals on display like it was expected, like it was right!

What gets to me is the kids. Kids, as we speak, are being taught that consuming dead body parts is normal. I was once that kid, like very many others out there. As a child, you have this keen sense of being compassionate towards all beings. That doesn't leave you. What happens is you get brainwashed into thinking otherwise that an animal is a "thing" to consume. Once I became vegan, my consciousness was renewed. My only regret is that I wasn't vegan sooner, but I spend every day making up for it.

My question to you is...

What's your favorite thing about living a vegan lifestyle?

Every breath I take, there's a reason for it. I'm Every breath I take, there's a reason for it. I'm sober in mind, body, and spirit. I am spiritually connected to my source, so I know I am here for a purpose. I vibe on a different level, so I am incredibly mission-driven.

People say it's a cliche you know. You're changing the word! But let me tell you, that is the way I think. I think in terms of global. However, I do know that it starts at home and everything ripples.

It means to know why you are here. Nurture why you're here. Eat, sleep, drink, and breathe why you're here.

I’m very active and involved on many levels. There is of course Rowdy Girl Sanctuary and the Rancher Advocacy Program; and I’m also on the board of directors of The Agriculture Fairness Alliance.
AFA is a 501c-4 vegan backed lobbying group that is all about creating legislation. The ag appropriation language that our Congress needs to hear to generate farm transition programs in our government for farmers.

So when I say mission-driven, it is WHATEVER I CAN DO! Cover the bases !

J.D. is one of those rare souls that was able to t J.D. is one of those rare souls that was able to tell his story through a kindhearted lady named Tara when he was facing certain death. All our residents have compelling stories—J.D.’s story took me and Tommy’s breath away when the breeder wrote an email to me in J.D.’s voice. You can learn more about his story and virtually adopt him on our website.

And thank you all for your continued support during this drought. It’s a critical time for donations because our food source for our residents is so uncertain because hay prices are driven up by this drought and some hay growers can’t even grow hay so transportation becomes a real problem. Keep praying and if you can help out the link is in our bio.

We are keeping our spirits high because your love and support has never failed us.

This drought is terrible. The animals are feeling This drought is terrible. The animals are feeling it right along with me, especially the cows and horses who thrive on grass. We often take our food for granted but when it’s in short supply, and in this case ZERO supply, we FEEL it. There’s a level of stress that permeates everything else. We can’t function without proper sustenance. The cows and horses can’t either. We depend on nature’s health and abundance to feed them and we are stretched so thin when nature is unwell. I am praying everyday for rain. And I’m afraid of these increasingly extreme weather events. What is the future bringing us? It’s a big part of why I am fighting so hard everyday to change our food systems. Animal agriculture hurts us all.

Honestly, the fight gets tough sometimes. There are moments when I do not know how we are going to get through it. But we made a choice born of conviction and we stand firm on that choice. We do this for the animals AND the scores of like-minded people who have learned the truth and believe in what we’re doing. If you’ve considered donating before, please do so now while we are in the midst of this emergency. Your help gets us through events like these so we can focus on building our movement while maintaining a beautiful life for our animal family.

Is it really a hard stretch to look into the eyes Is it really a hard stretch to look into the eyes of a living, breathing being and see them for who they are instead of “what” we think they are?

Animals are not created by God to suffer at the hands of greedy, callous, blood thirsty and gluttonous humans. Animals are not necessary for our food, clothing, furnishings or entertainment! If they can suffer, AND THEY DO, why would we want to have their blood, anguish and suffering on our hands?

Do you want to suffer and die for someone’s “food choices”? Would you think our creator was a twisted God if he created humans to be farmed for other creatures to eat? If a human gets eaten by a wild animal it’s usually because they are hunting them and their families!

Humans have twisted and perverted the creation story so they can pass down a violent culture (cult) that was never intended by God. Search your original heart, not the story you’ve been told, but your heartbeat that pulses in time with our creator—the truth of who we all are is found and heard when we declutter ourselves from tradition, heritage and “cult”ure!

Treat others (all others) how you would want to be treated and above all BE KIND & Don’t Kill 🙏

Love, Reneé

Rain….we need rain pouring from the skies…..Ra Rain….we need rain pouring from the skies…..Rain……we need rain pouring from the skies!!

This drought is relentless! It’s beating down in us like a hot fire that is never extinguished. When Mother Nature can’t to sustain them with green grass for the summer months the burden falls upon their caretakers!

So many cattle ranchers are opting to send their cows to sale barns instead of caring for them because of the expense and scarcity of hay and rain!

We will never send our family to a slaughter house. We will do everything to appeal on their behalf!!

If you know a prayer or a dance or a message of hope for rain please send all good things our way and donate to our Drought Fundraiser- we need $10,500 to help offset the $12,000 I’ll be spending for more hay next week. Unprecedented times call for unprecedented measures! Let’s bring all good forces and sources together and appeal to the heavens for rain!! Enough rain to grow back our grass that has become parched and dust- Love y’all- thank you for your support and blessings to our members!

Meet #proudmember Stacey Eisenberg! Stacey lives i Meet #proudmember Stacey Eisenberg! Stacey lives in Austin TX and is another one of our dearest friends and supporters! It does my heart so much good to share their live of Rowdy Girl Sanctuary with all of you!

Here’s Stacey’s Why:

When I learned about Rowdy Girl Sanctuary, and Renee & Tommys’ story, I was in awe. Being a Texas cattle ranching family for so many years and finally realizing there is a better way of life, full of compassion and love, is amazing. Renee and Tommy are trailblazers, showing others ways to be a productive farm, without the horrific practices of animal slaughter. They are opening the eyes of so many to lead a fulfilled life where kindness reigns and the non human animals get to live in peace and tranquility. This is why I became a member and encourage others to join the herd.

RGS is the kind of place where you arrive and immediately feel relaxed and at peace. Meeting all the lucky residents was an experience of a lifetime. Each and every one there is shown love everyday. Being with them truly took my breath away!

I became vegan when I learned about the lies we are told in so-called ‘kosher’ slaughter. Once I learned, I could not continue to contribute to the exploitation of all the beautiful sentient beings we share this planet with. ‘Once you know, you can’t UNknow!’

Become A Member to be a part of our culture! We promise you’ll be glad you did!
