Cinnamon’s Story

Cinnamon comes to us from Brookshire, Texas. She is a purebred Brahman show cow with registration papers. The ranch where she came from had 50 cows at the time bred for showing as a hobby. Unfortunately, because of the flawed system we have, if a cow isn’t reproducing, she’s considered “useless” to the business. This beautiful being was going to be slaughtered the very weekend we rescued her.

Minutes after the ABC 13 Houston News story aired, Cinnamon’s caretakers contacted us, desperate for sanctuary. The owner wanted to send her to the sale barn, where she would have been slaughtered because she has a cyst on an ovary that deems her undesirable and of no use to a breeding facility for show cows.

Thank you, Deborah Wrigley of ABC, for this story. Cinnamon is a Godsend—she is truly the epitome of an old soul, and her emotions are both seen and felt.
