Ivy’s Story
Ivy came to Rowdy Girl Sanctuary because her family cared so much about her that they could not bear the only other option they faced—euthanasia. They had tried everything and were in a state of despair. Several unforeseen family circumstances had left this loving family unable to provide Ivy with the care she was accustomed to as a spoiled little princess. A beloved family member fell ill and came to live with them, and Ivy was unable to cope with the changes, which led to her becoming aggressive toward family members and guests. In tears, Loan called Rowdy Girl, desperate to find sanctuary for their beloved family member.
Here’s Ivy’s story as told by Loan:
“Hi, my name is Ivy, and I’m a pig who will do anything for peanuts! I was adopted by the Phan family in Virginia. We used to play in the front yard and run around, and with every lap, they would give me a delicious peanut! Soon, we moved to Texas. It was much hotter and more humid, but I loved it. I stayed with another person for a little while—the Phans’ uncle—and he took great care of me. Then, I moved back in with the Phans, and I had loads of fun. The dad built a wooden pen for me to stay in during the day, and their backyard had so many things to explore. I got to go for a walk every morning, and I enjoyed eating different types of grasses. Now, I’m loving life on this great farm with my new farm friends.”
Ivy has a comfy, cozy life at Rowdy Girl Sanctuary and will always be their little sweetheart.
