Sunrise’s Story
Sunrise was rescued from a cockfighting ring bust in Alvin, Texas. He was one of over 200 roosters confiscated, and like many others, he had been bred to fight to the death. On the streets, Sunrise was worth a small fortune because of his training.
At Rowdy Girl Sanctuary, Sunrise used his skills to protect his girls. He spent all his time guarding his chicken friends, and if he thought any of his hens were in trouble, he would run up, jump, and kick to defend them.
With this new way of life, Sunrise was able to show his sweet and gentle nature. He was not only very sociable but also handled well in all situations. He loved to be touched and stroked, and he was wonderful whenever vet work was needed.
