Shade

Shade was an apartment duck. Yep, you read that right! She was an owner surrender to us after her mom got a job as a FEMA worker and would not be able to take Shade along on her long travels.

It was hard for us to take Shade because of how much we could see that her mom loved her.

But it was clear that we were the only choice for Shade to have the life that her mom wanted for her.

Shade now gets to spend the rest of her life waddling free in the grass – for the very first time! She is happy here with all of her new duck friends.
