The Drought Is Here—and Every Gift for Hay Is Doubled

Dry conditions have made hay harder to find and more expensive across Texas, and Rowdy Girl Sanctuary is feeling the impact. We need approximately 176 round bales to keep our animals fed through the winter, and right now, every gift will be doubled through a generous $7,500 match.

Our goal is to raise the full $15,000 needed to replenish our hay supply and keep our cow pantry stocked. One round bale costs about $85, and our herd of 69 cows goes through approximately two bales every day.

Ranchers across Texas are shopping for the same hay, and the best bales can be spoken for quickly. Because this drought has forced us to use our winter hay earlier than planned, filling our barn while hay is available is more important than ever.
