It’s true! When I went vegan I straight up started calling Tommy, my husband, a murderer! I would scream the word to him from the tops of my lungs!! I was so terribly affected when I first went vegan because I was married to a cattle rancher and was terrified that I would have to endure the heartache of Tommy selling all the cows to be slaughtered. But y’all know the rest of the story, right? Tommy went vegan, I started a fundraiser and bought his cows, and started Rowdy Girl Sanctuary—the 1st documented Beef Cattle Ranch Vegan Conversion in history. That’s just crazy! People are always asking me “what do you eat”

People are always asking me “what do you eat” if you don’t eat eggs, cheese, meat, bacon, meat, ice cream, etc. My answer is all of the above but cruelty free!! There is no excuse in today’s world to eat the tortured, slaughtered bodies of animals. Their body parts do not belong on my plate, floating in a soup bowl, or skewered on a stick. Their excretions which are violently extracted via a rape rack and a term called artificial insemination whereby a farmer puts his or her arm up into the rectum of a restrained female cow to insert semen that was extracted in unnatural ways is rape!

There is no excuses! It’s time to break free from animal agricultures lies! There are no happy hens, smiling cows, dancing ducks or jolly pigs. Farm animals suffer excruciating deaths and they have no life other than the bred existence that humans impose upon them until they are slaughtered. I love to prepare meals today - its fun - My food doesn’t stink, its not bloody and there is no death and decaying flesh. So grateful to be vegan. Please share with me what’s in your fridge!!

I was scrolling through my photos and ran across these awesome pics of me and Tommy courting Rowdy Girl. Rowdy Girl is not the type of cow that craves a lot of attention. She doesn’t seek out head scratches or neck rubs like some do. She is all business but she is definitely one of my soul mates.

This girl came to me when Tommy decided I needed to get more involved in the cattle ranching business. I bought her for $300 when she was just a few days old and bottle fed her twice a day for 6 months. We are incredibly bonded in the sense that we communicate with each other soul to soul, heart to heart. She truly converses with me in spirit and I hear her, but she is a lot like some people I know in that she just really doesn’t want to be bothered with touchy feely stuff. She’s no nonsense and always has an agenda.

All of our cows have distinct personalities and nuances. I’m so grateful that I’ve tuned myself to see, hear and feel their personhood. How did we ever get to a place in our world where we decided to treat cows and other farm animals like objects. Its such a disgrace on our humanity.

Everyone is so happy and peaceful now that the freezing weather has past. Today was like spring time....look at Roo here all laid out taking a nap. I am so relieved to see the animals happy and resting. (Swipe R to see Roo with Roux, Gizmo and Roux, Freedom and me and Sweetheart) That 5 or 6 days was tough and now we’re cleaning up all the aftermath as so many are. This is just so beautiful- the snow, ice and extreme temperatures wrecked havoc for sure but moments like this were breathtaking! We are assessing damages today - lots of busted pipes, had another 18 wheeler load of 27 round bales - they are devouring them right now as they need the energy- and today Rowdy Girl Sanctuary is 6 year’s old!! We may be exhausted but we are tremendously grateful for all of your prayers and support!!
