The Rescued Herd’s Story
This is a story of the heart. Former cattle ranchers from Huntsville, Texas, were part of the Rancher Advocacy Program. The wife went vegan first, and now the husband is vegan too. A 6th-generation cattle ranch family has ended the tradition of violence on their farm. Missy, Monty, Cinnie, Sammy, and Minnie are the last of the herd, and they are now at Rowdy Girl Sanctuary, where they will live out the rest of their lives. All were all under 3 years old when they arrived, and cows can live up to 20+ years.
The ranchers are grieving the loss of their babies. There are no more moo cows out in the pasture. They know it’s for the best but the sudden loss of cow energy on their land is painful. Y’all these former Texas Cattle Ranchers are now Vegan!
