Today Penny is safe. She was born into a system that sell pigs to kids, and lets them raise them for 6 months, show them, then slaughter them. But Penny will live a live on Rowdy Girl Sanctuary with people that love her and other animal friends. Penny is smart and knew the game, she would dump her feed to the pigs close to her, and at show she came in 10 out of 10 because she was too lean. If she would have came in the top three she would go to auction. Charles Armstrong raised over $1,000 on GoFundMe to save Penny and bring her home to Rowdy Girl Sanctuary.

Do you thoroughly screen applicants who wish to adopt? I make every effort to see good in people, but let’s face it, they sometimes lie or don’t realize that caring for our animal friends means they become part of the family. It would be so heartbreaking if the poor little animal ended up back in the same type of predicament that once led them to you.

Hi Ann – thank you for your concern – adoption is not in the literal sense – animals at RGS are adopted virtually and – its like a sponsorship. We are updating our website to make that more clear – we would never adopt our animals outside of the sanctuary. 😉
